This recipe, is one of my all time favorites! You can use it for a dinner party, holidays, or as a side dish for your family dinners. It is so easy to make, and it really gives you the taste of the classic green bean casserole, except deconstructed and elevated. I used steamable frozen green beans for convenience and time. But, you can use fresh green beans too! I also used sliced white mushrooms, but you can substitute any type of mushroom you would rather use. Using 2 cups of shredded parmesan is our taste...you can add more if you wish. I placed the fried onion rings on a large baking pan with a sheet of parchment paper for easy clean up.

Amazing Green Bean Casserole Without Baking
THINGS YOU NEED
2 Bags of steamable frozen green beans
2 containers of sliced white mushrooms
1 container of French’s Fried Onion Rings, Original
1 pint of heavy whipping cream
2 cups of shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp of Nutmeg
3 tbsp of butter
Turn oven on to 350 degrees.
Drizzle olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
When hot, place mushrooms into pan.
Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper to taste.
Continue to saute mushrooms
Start to cook green beans as directed.
When oven is hot, place fried onion rings onto a large baking pan.
Place in the oven, approximately 5 minutes, but all ovens vary. Take onion rings out of oven when browned.
Place butter in a pan over medium heat, Add heavy whipping cream and nutmeg.
When heavy whipping cream becomes hot, add shredded cheese, a little at a time, while stirring.
Turn to high, while stirring continuously, until mixture starts to bubble.
Change to low heat, continue to stir, for 5 minutes.
Then take off heat.
When green beans are finished, add them to the pan with mushrooms.
Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
Saute for 3 minutes.
Place green bean and mushroom mixture onto a plate
Drizzle your parmesan cream sauce over green bean and mushroom mixture
Place fried onion rings on top of your parmesan cream sauce
