We love to dine out and experience new restaurants. You could call us a bunch of "foodies". But, when you are leaving the restaurant, and planning your next visit, you have achieved your goal. A fantastic dining experience. We are talking about The Market Street Inn, in Salisbury, MD
As we entered The Market Street Inn, let's not get it twisted, we were famished. So, being sat at a great table, immediately made us happy. Before we even gazed at the menu, we went straight to the small plates. And interestingly we came across a menu item we had not seen before. Crispy Deviled Eggs. These are hand breaded, fried, and topped with a bacon jam. We had to try those and the crab dip...we are in Maryland. These appetizers did not disappoint any of us. The crab dip, was excellent, served with a warm crusty roll. But, let us talk about those Crispy Deviled Eggs...amazing! Different, and yet so good! but, now it was time for our main courses.
I ordered the Fish Tacos, which were excellent. The salsa and cabbage was a nice touch. My youngest ordered off the children's menu, but my other daughter, ordered an Inverted Cheeseburger. You heard me...apparently, they have discovered that we have been eating our burgers wrong. Inverted, will not allow it to become too juicy, and drip all over you. Genius! But, let us talk about the highlight. Which we could have ordered two of these which came off the small plates menu. General Tso's Cauliflower. Do you think it is acceptable to lick the plate? Because, all of us wanted to do just that. This was incredible!
We ended with me ordering a coffee, and all of us digging into a home made Creme Brulee. Our favorite, and will be yours too, if you have it at the Market Street Inn. Thank you for such an excellent atmosphere, great service, and amazing food...WE WILL BE BACK!
If you have ever visited the Delaware Beaches or you are a resident, you know the name Bethany Blues. Having two locations in Lewes and Bethany Beach, makes it convenient to satisfy your barbeque cravings. But, did you know they have many other menu items to chooses from? And trust me, you will not be disappointed.
As we entered Bethany Blues-Lewes, we were greeted by a friendly staff. Even though Bethany Blues has late night entertainment, you get a real sense of the establishment being a family-friendly environment too. The cocktail menu is impressive, but I decided to start with a classic, a Cosmopolitan. We proceeded to study the menu, and an appetizer was a must. The Chesapeake Crab Dip was presented with Blues Pub Pretzels and Old Bay Tortilla Chips, which I thought, was a nice touch. For all the little "picky eaters," there is a variety of choices from the children's menu. The Kid's Fried Shrimp, Grilled Cheese, and Beef Brisket are just a few of them. The Signature BBQ Sandwich, featuring pulled pork, has become my daughter's favorite. And, we all took turns sneaking her hot and crispy hand cut french fries. But, can we talk about the Chef's Special? I ordered Seared Scallops with Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus. The only word to describe this entrée, amazing!
While we were finishing our dinner, live music was being played for our enjoyment. Thanks to great food and an exceptional staff, our family night was a complete success. Whether you are a barbeque lover or not, Bethany Blues is a superb choice. I can also guarantee one more thing, we will be back!!
Woody's Dewey Beach claims that they are the home of the best crab cakes and burgers. Being a girl from Maryland, I have heard this statement far too often. With that being said, I am picky about any description that has "crab" in the title. So, buckle-up Woody's! This is a test for all "Marylander's", and any one who has a true love for crab cakes! But don't worry burger lover's, we are looking out for you too!
We started our experience at Woody's, being sat on their porch. Eating and people watching, my two favorite things! But, with this visit, I meant business. Starting out with a Crab Dip was a must. It came out served piping hot with carrots, celery, and toasted bread points. Woody's should be claiming, best crab dip, because it is one of the best we have had in a long time. We even had to order more toasted bread points. None of us were going to let this perfection go to waste. But, now comes the real question. Does Woody's have the best crab cakes and burgers? Well, we were about to find out. My daughter ordered a Build-A-Burger, while I ordered the Crab Cakes. I was not about to try the crab cakes without trying a burger too. Usually, rule of thumb for crab cakes is... Jumbo lump crab meat, no fillers, and must be located in Maryland. So with those preliminaries being stressed to me, since I was of the age to pick my own steamed crab, it is hard for me to say this. But, the winner is Woody's! They know their crab cakes! However, what I should say is, they know their "crab." Because, we also ordered the Crabby Tots. A twist on loaded fries. It is presented with crab dip and three different kinds of melted cheeses on top a heap of tator-tots. But, what about their claim on burgers? You guessed it, Woody's is batting a home run! Their burgers are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked to order.
Well Woody's, I bow down with respect of all "crab" on your menu. And your burgers are incredible too! With great cocktails and an amazing staff, you will not be disappointed. Woody's...get a table ready for us...we will be back!
Arena’s Deli & Bar, of Milford, is one of our favorite family restaurants in Delaware. Let’s be honest, I have been a devoted patron for years. Why, you ask? I have never had a bad experience at Arena’s, and our last visit, was no exception.
As we entered Arena’s in Milford, we were immediately greeted by a staff member. With no wait, we were escorted to our table. The first item discussed, the appetizer. It would be a sin, according to my children, if we did not start with an order of the Death Fries. The mixture of barbeque sauce and ranch dressing is a crowd pleaser.
We all have our preferences, even though I like to switch it up on occasion. It doesn’t matter, these over-stuffed sandwiches are incredible! The Stacked B.L.T. is one of those preferences. But, my daughter, being a bacon lover, never seems to tire of it. The Big Daddy, has large layers of turkey, roast beef, Thousand Island dressing, coleslaw, and swiss cheese. As my youngest always reminds me, the Grilled Cheese from the Arena’s Kids Menu, is the best she has ever had. As for me, the Chicken Cheesesteak, is my old friend. The chicken is never dry, and the sandwich is filling. But, who’s kidding, they all are! The sandwiches are always served in Arena’s traditional basket, with a bag of chips, and a pickle.
If you haven’t been to Arena’s, I encourage you to visit. They have 7 different locations to choose from and great specials at each one. Arena’s, I will not say I will be back. Instead, I will say, see you next week!
