Imagine sitting on your best friend's deck, over looking a golf course, with the Blue Ridge Mountains as your back drop. While holding a cocktail or a hot cup of cocoa, the stress of work or school is far in the distance. There are family-friendly activities for all ages, spa services in a serene setting with a salt water pool, and exquisite accommodations and dining. Now, top it off, with a star gazing observatory. Welcome to PRIMLAND | THE ULTIMATE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY LUXURY RESORT.
This is a sponsored post. Even though I may have received monetary or free services in exchange for a review, These opinions are mine alone.
Primland is located in the Meadows Of Dan. Nestled at the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains, there are 2 gates you may enter this luxury resort from. As you drive a winding road, you ascend to 3000 feet above sea level. Passing the most amazing views, you arrive at a warm and inviting mountain compound, founded by Didier Primat. The Primland Lodge and their staff will welcome you like their own family member or old friend.
There are many choices to choose from, as you plan to stay at Primland. From a couple or friends retreat, to a family getaway, Primland has thought of every detail to make your stay an experience of a lifetime. Primland's signature accommodations are the Tree House Cabins. They give you stunning views without hindering the comfort of a luxury room. Perfect for couples or close friends. For families or small groups, there are the Pinnacle and Fairway Cottages. Some of these are located directly on the fairway. However, we had the pleasure of staying in the Primland Lodge.
The Lodge is the main building within this luxurious compound. Surrounded in warm tones and eclectic features, the Grand Hall, tends to be a welcome gathering place. This is where you can also find a 2-story wine room, the spa, fitness center, salt water pool, observatory, and dining options.
Our Blue Ridge Mountain Suite was impeccable. As you enter, there is soothing music playing from the flat screen television. The living area was comfortable and spacious. The sofa could be converted into a sofa bed, with doors that create a separate sleeping option.
We loved the dining area near the window and the wet bar with a refrigerator and coffeemaker was ideal.
The bedroom consisted of 2 queen size beds, where you could have sweet dreams all night. I love the little nook for quiet time, and to get ready for my day or evening.
Primland has thought of everything, including a vanity.
There is a powder room in the living area, while the main bathroom is a masterpiece. A double head shower with plenty room to spare, a deep tub to end any cares of the day, and a double vanity...which is great for families!

There are plenty of activities for all ages at Primland. From the Highland Golf Course to treatments in The Spa. But there are family friendly activities too! There are daily activities, from Movies On The Range to Kids Crafts. You just need to check the Daily Activity Schedule. There are also additional activities that you may want to choose. Some of them include biking, horseback riding, and water sports.
The first thing you will do is drive to the Activities Center, which is located down the south side of the mountain, to arrange all the fun you would like to have during your stay.
We decided to go fly fishing, an event I could mark off my bucket list. We drove to the pond and were greeted by our fly fishing coaches. I am calling them coaches, because they gave the best encouragement to all that were participating.
After practice and amazing guidance, we all started to catch fish!
But, of course, we through them back into the water!
As we drove back to The Lodge, you can not help but appreciate the views. From nature in front of you...
...to the views of the never ending mountains to the side.
We needed to make a reservation to have access to the salt water pool. Reservations were taken at the The Spa.
The fitness center is located within this area too.
. The pool room was kept at a warm temperature and the water was refreshing.
The girls and I loved it!
Now, it was time for our guided hike. We started at the Fairy Door Trail.
Where we were swept away by fairies and gnomes.
A true experience for families with younger children!
We then continued into the lavish forest. As our guide explained the different trees and animals, we also came across the remnants of one of the oldest homes found in that area.
And we were even greeted by a friendly face!
As in any luxury resort, food and wine are the main ingredient to a happy guest. Primland is no exception. To start, you can elect a wine from Primland's 2 story wine room. Even if you do not like wine...it is amazing to look at!
The 19th Pub is upscale casual dining. They have an all day menu, starting with breakfast, and continuing into dinner. One night, we decided to have dinner at the 19th Pub with a beautiful seat outside.
My favorite was the Seared Tuna Tacos ...
.. and the Primland Burger!.
We also enjoyed an early morning breakfast there too!
My youngest loved the pancakes!
Elements, is the heart and soul of Primland. This is fine dining at its best!
There is a dress code and reservations are required.
Elements has a superior staff. The service was outstanding and this is where the Chef can show off his culinary skills. Most of the ingredients are local...quintessential farm to table. The highlights of our dinner included the Shrimp and Grits...
...The Blue Crab Cake...
...and the Homemade Agnolotti with Roasted Corn, one of the chef's recommendations.
The Observatory Dome is like no other. Due to the high altitude, it makes star gazing even better. And Primland made sure they took advantage of it. As the dome opens up to the night sky, you are transported into a realm of space and no time.
Within the Observatory, is a high powered Celestron CGE Pro 1400 telescope. With the help and knowledge of a staff member, not only are you able to see beyond the naked eye, but have a light astronomy lesson too! An amazing experience that all should encounter! A perfect ending to an awesome day!
Our time at Primand has to come to an end. I encourage every family to visit Primland. Reconnect as a family and with nature, while being pampered in a serene and elegant surrounding! Make sure you visit the Primland website for questions and reservations.
A special thanks to Primland and their staff. You made us feel like family, and WE WILL BE BACK!
